Updating my meme; nothing much to see here, folks.
If you like, I did try a WR slideshow. Music protection is a pain, just so you know. Bleach Exile has also started loading the related manga, though I'm glad to have my own copy. You get what you pay for, translationwise.

The Will and the Wordcount (Hand gestures optional)
So, yes, I'm actually attempting Nano this year... or at least 50000 words in fandom. Like last year, this'll mostly be through parallel storylines. This time, I'm aiming for at least two thousand per character, instead of the drabblematic. To start us off, one of my new sources of crack, thanks to boz4pm:

I also have commited fanart, (shippy, even, gods forbid,) having seen nothing in my initial limited browsing that features a certain manga spoiler. 'Sides, how can this one resist trying a hand at Black Hayate? Fortunately, my scanner is currently not allowing me to inflict it upon the world. Because hands = argh, but are still kinda required for a certain alchemist, if you know what I mean.

Bad Warg's Rayne and other crack
You know, generally I don't get too squeeful about TV shows. My schedule is usually too irregular to totally keep up with currently running serials. But I did catch the last half of Chuck on Monday and all I can say is see the subject line with slash goggles on. Adam Baldwin = <3. Amusing, ass-kicking, reluctant moonbrain-protecting <3. (Plus, after seeing an add for one of Fillion's films, an Alan Tudyk cameo in Knocked Up, and "Mr. Reynolds" tonight on NCIS, Firefly's becoming my own Bad Wolf.)
But I also randomly stumbled upon a very shiny Wolf on YouTube. Now, having grown up with irregular Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon episodes on Toonami, I never really gave anime much of a chance. But Wolf's Rain? Is v. pretty. Maybe it's just because I can watch multiple episodes in one go, but it also seems a heckuva lot more plotty than the traditional "I'm going to kill you!"/"Not if I can reach a higher constipation power level first!" of DBZ. Sure, you get the traditional Alpha-type, wingman type, omega kid, and lone wolf, but all of the above are [were]wolves. And even I can see the slash five episodes in.

It can't be said enough.
Heck, I know there are published authors on my flist, so this isn't directed at them; they get the "Go you!" However, for the Suethors we deal with for time to time, advice: it's not just for romance writers anymore.
Borders is doing some publishing deal contract contest thing off of that site, if anyone's interested, but somehow I can't see myself knocking out a multi-chapter romance novel by the twenty-second. Short genfic, on the other hand... that I can do. ;)
